Education – Completion of a formal radiological program from an accredited college or hospital based program. (Refer to Licenses & Certifications below for certification criteria).
Experience – Prefer two (2) years relevant experience as a Radiologic Technologist with at least one (1) year experience in a Magnetic Resonance Imaging department.
Licenses & Certification – Current registration with the ARRT as a Magnetic Resonance Technologist or registry eligible status is preferred. CPR certification is required.
Knowledge & Skills –
Knowledge of the physics of Radiology, such as kilo voltage, Ma, and Time as well as an understanding of Physics of Magnetics.
The primary purpose of the position is to perform all required Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanning procedures in accordance with established Radiological protocols.
Work is performed in a hospital/outpatient health clinic environment. There is common exposure to infectious communicable disease, potentially hazardous chemicals, and bio hazardous materials. Incumbent must be aware of all risks involved, and be willing to take precautions as required and requested. Special attire may be required as protection against infection and radiation.
Work requires long periods of standing and walking. Working with patients requires recurring bending, lifting, stretching and positioning patients. Ability to lift 50 pounds is required to perform positional duties.
