Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in assembling dishes and plating food items for service
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas
- Support the kitchen team with cooking tasks as needed, including basic food preparation and meal assembly
- Handle food with proper hygiene practices, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming meals or catering events
- Maintain organized workstations to ensure efficiency during busy service periods
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary techniques
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Experience in food service environments that require attention to detail and quick turnaround times
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and follow instructions accurately
