Position Summary
The Chief of Staff serves as the Executive Director’s principal aide and strategic partner,
overseeing the organization’s daily operations, internal coordination, and event execution. This
role ensures that all internal teams, including; housing direct services, organizing, community
affairs, operations, and outreach, are aligned, resourced, and operating at peak effectiveness.
The Chief of Staff works closely with HR and IT to ensure smooth operational systems, effective
staffing processes, and reliable technology infrastructure. Acting as a bridge between the
Executive Director, senior leadership, and staff, the Chief of Staff ensures seamless
communication, timely delivery of priorities, and organizational readiness for both internal and
external engagements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Organizational Leadership & Operations
● Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of internal teams, ensuring alignment,
accountability, and strong team dynamics.
● Partner with the Executive Director and Senior Leadership to set organizational
priorities, align resources, and track progress toward strategic goals.
● Assess, implement, and refine operational policies, systems, and guidelines to improve
efficiency and sustainability.
● Monitor and manage organizational workflows to ensure quality, timeliness, and
cost-effectiveness.
● Collaborate closely with HR to support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance
evaluation, and staff well-being.● Partner with IT to ensure effective technology systems, data security, and tech support
for staff.
Executive Partnership & Coordination
● Serve as the Executive Director’s primary operational partner, ensuring they are
prepared for meetings, events, and strategic decisions.
● Represent the Executive Director in internal and external meetings when needed.
● Draft briefing materials, talking points, memos, and communications to ensure clarity
and alignment across the organization.
Event Planning & Execution
● Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of organizational events, ensuring
alignment with mission, strategic goals, and community/ stakeholder expectations.
● Oversee event logistics, budgets, vendor relationships, and evaluation.
Staff & Team Development
● Hire, train, and onboard staff; oversee professional development and performance
appraisals in collaboration with HR.
● Manage and advise respective Supervisors on staff issues, policies, and compliance to
maintain a fair, safe, and productive workplace.
● Foster cross-department collaboration and communication.
Fiscal & Resource Management
● Develop and monitor operational budgets; identify cost efficiencies without
compromising quality.
● Oversee inventory control, procurement, and vendor management.
● Alert leadership to budget risks and recommend solutions.
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
● Oversee organizational communications, including social media strategy and
execution, ensuring consistent messaging.
● Coordinate with external partners, community stakeholders, and government officials
for meetings, events, and collaborations.
Other
● Stay informed on technology, policy, and industry trends to enhance innovation and
compliance.
● Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related major,
Equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted for education.
● Seven or more years of industry experience
● Effective verbal and written communication skills
● Knowledge of Microsoft Office and/ or Google Suite

Salary & Benefits:
This is a full-time position, 40 hrs a week, offering an annual salary range between $85,000 -
$90,000 commensurating with experience and a health benefits package.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
