The Nittany Valley Sports Centre is seeking candidates for a part-time, hourly position as a Summer Camp Counselor
Must be available to work Monday- Friday as schedule permits June – August
Job Functions Include:
- Arriving 15-20 minutes prior to scheduled program times to set up needed equipment to be fully prepared for activities
- Supervising and participating in activities with campers including but not limited to: soccer, basketball, baseball, kickball, dodgeball, and relay races.
- Possessing time management skills to ensure activities are beginning/ending on time and following proper rotation schedules to evenly distribute program activities
- Provide a positive, safe learning environment that encourages participants to have an enjoyable experience
- Provide excellent customer service to participants and parents; communicate upcoming events, activities, etc.
- Supervision of participants, including but not limited to check-in/out procedures, safety plans, emergency action plans, etc.
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to work with others in a group setting
- Strong leadership skills; comfortable working one on one with children
- Willingness to obtain all clearances needed to work with children
- Previous work with youth activities is a plus
- Saftey, upkeep. and inventory of summer camp equipment and facility
