Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, reconciling multiple bank accounts, managing and reconciling daily invoicing from the retail locations through PDI software, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with accounting standards and facilitate smooth financial operations across various departments. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, and overseeing the PDI accounting process and back office record keeping for multiple C Stores.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions and ensure organized recordkeeping.
- Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare supporting workpapers, and management reports.
- Analyze account variances and identify unusual transactions for review.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and GAAP.
- Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Cross-train with other accounting team members to provide backup support as needed.
- Assist with audits, special projects, process improvements, and system implementations.
- Collaborate with the Controller and Operations team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Internships or related accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software, preferably Sage Intaact and/or PDI, is a plus.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Willingness to learn new systems and continuously improve accounting processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
