Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician/Laborer and become a vital part of creating comfortable, safe, and energy-efficient environments. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, mechanical systems, and building automation controls. Your expertise will ensure our clients experience optimal indoor air quality and climate control. Custom sheetmetal shop, building custom sheetmetal fittings. More commercial work than residential. Prevailing wages on certain jobs.
Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, electrical wiring, refrigeration components, and mechanical equipment according to schematics and design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing HVAC units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and mechanical systems to ensure peak performance.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot mechanical or refrigerant system problems efficiently.
- Conduct system testing and calibration to verify proper operation of HVAC/R equipment and building automation systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, installation logs, and maintenance reports for all work performed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Must be able to pass drug screening & clear driving record.
Skills
- Construction experience with ductwork installation, piping, welding, and mechanical system assembly.
- Service technician experience with troubleshooting HVAC/R systems in commercial or residential settings.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles and building automation systems integration.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration techniques, and mechanical repairs.
- Familiarity with equipment repair including boilers, pumps, fans, compressors, and other mechanical components.
- Certification such as EPA refrigerant handling certification; experience with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC/R equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively for electrical troubleshooting.
- Field service experience with customer-facing interactions ensuring quality installation and repair services.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate driver vehicles if required. MSHP clearance required.
- Knowledge of building automation systems for climate control management in commercial buildings.
- Must have OSHA-10 certification prior to starting. (This can be completed online)
