GWES is seeking an experienced and motivated Professional Engineer to lead the planning, design, and construction of municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects from our newest office location in Douglasville, Georgia. This senior-level position offers the opportunity to manage complex projects, mentor developing engineers, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of GWES’s Metro Atlanta presence.
The successful candidate will oversee projects from initial planning and design through permitting, bidding, and construction. The role will include managing project scopes, budgets, schedules, and internal resources; coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies; providing technical leadership; and supporting business-development and strategic growth efforts. For highly qualified candidates, this position may also provide a clear path toward company ownership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects, including:
- Water distribution systems
- Wastewater collection and treatment systems
- Stormwater management and conveyance systems
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, utility departments, and local governments
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Prepare technical documents, construction drawings, reports, cost estimates, and permit packages
- Provide construction-phase support, including submittal reviews and site visits
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and internal resources
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff to help grow the next generation of engineering talent
- Support business development, proposal preparation, and client relationship efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia (required)
- Minimum of 7-10 years of demonstrated experience in municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater project design and management
- Proven leadership in client service, team coordination, and technical execution
- Strong understanding of Georgia-specific design standards, permitting processes, and funding programs
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional project site visits

Pay: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
