The School Psychometrist provides comprehensive psychoeducational assessment services to support the identification, eligibility determination, and educational planning of students with suspected disabilities. The School Psychometrist collaborates with administrators, teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations while promoting student academic and behavioral success.
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations for initial referrals and reevaluations.
Select, administer, score, and interpret standardized cognitive, academic, behavioral, adaptive behavior, and developmental assessments.
Prepare comprehensive written evaluation reports that support eligibility decisions and educational programming.
Participate in eligibility, Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers regarding assessment results and educational recommendations.
Assist in determining eligibility for special education services in accordance with IDEA and Alabama State Department of Education guidelines.
Monitor evaluation timelines and maintain compliance with federal and state requirements.
Maintain accurate student records and documentation within district and state data management systems.
Provide recommendations for instructional interventions, accommodations, and behavioral supports.
Collaborate with school personnel to support intervention planning and progress monitoring.
Assist with transfer reviews, reevaluations, compliance monitoring, and due process documentation as needed.
Participate in professional development to remain current with assessment practices, legal requirements, and educational research.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
