Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily shipping and receiving activities for our dry dock operations. Working closely with the Shipping & Receiving Manager, this position serves as the primary point of coordination between Production, Logistics, Sales, warehouse personnel, and third-party carriers to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
This role is critical to maintaining efficient operations, inventory accuracy, and outstanding customer service.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate daily inbound and outbound shipping and receiving activities.
- Process customer orders through the ERP system and prepare Bills of Lading and all required shipping documentation.
- Coordinate shipments with Sales, Production, warehouse personnel, Logistics, and third-party transportation providers.
- Verify customer orders, product specifications, quantities, lot numbers, and shipping documentation before shipment.
- Schedule trailers, coordinate dock activity, and support loading operations.
- Receive incoming raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and supplies while verifying quantities and product condition.
- Process shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions within the ERP system.
- Investigate shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, shortages, and damaged shipments.
- Communicate shipment status, scheduling updates, and delays to internal departments.
- Inspect trailers for cleanliness, temperature, and suitability before loading.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Help improve shipping, receiving, and warehouse processes while maintaining compliance with company policies and food safety standards.
- Assist with special projects and other operational initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking ForQualifications
- Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with Production, Sales, Logistics, Customer Service, warehouse personnel, and outside carriers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain company certification to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in refrigerated warehouse and dock environments as needed.
- Ability to work safely around forklifts and warehouse equipment.
Working Environment
- Combination of office, warehouse, refrigerated dock, and shipping environments.
- Frequent interaction with production employees, warehouse personnel, truck drivers, and office staff.
- Fast-paced environment requiring the coordination of multiple customer orders, shipments, and priorities.
