Our ideal candidate has experience working in a veterinary animal hospital setting or boarding facility.
We are also willing to provide on-the-job training to any motivated candidate without previous experience.
This is a fast-paced job for a quick learner. We are looking for a candidate who is seeking long-term employment working with veterinarians + patients and their owners. If you have not worked in a veterinary environment previously, we ask that you come in for a post-interview/pre-employment job-shadow opportunity to ensure that you are equipped to handle being around the animals and medical procedures.
Responsibilities & Duties
Including, but not limited to; helping to maintain a clean and safe environment for our patients. Assisting with patient care. Client communication.
We will provide paid training for daily tasks; such as feeding, weighing, and helping with general physical exams on pets. Other routine duties include administering medication, animal restraint, cleaning cages/kennels, and providing care before and after medical procedures. We also go on occasional house-call visits for our patients, which can be a lot of fun.
This position will also include the opportunity for interested applicants to cross-train to the front desk to assist with checking in clients, making appointments, etc... We will provide training for these aspects of the job as well.
Schedule Options
Most of our employees choose a 3-4 day work week (30-40 hours). You must be available from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on your scheduled days during the week. And 7:00 am to Noon on any scheduled Saturdays (typically 2-3 Saturdays per month).
We do not offer partial-day schedules.
Payscale
From $16.50 and up -- based on the applicant's previous work experience.
Licensed veterinary technicians start at a higher rate and have a different job description. LVTs may enquire via message or email for details.

Ideal Qualifications (can be trained as well)
- Veterinary experience
- Animal handling skills
- Ability to restrain animals safely
- Proficiency in medication administration
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Familiarity with animal physiology
- Previous pet care or animal care experience
- Veterinary assistant background
- Understanding of proper cleaning, disinfection, and disease-control protocols
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions for special dietary needs and basic medication administration
- Comfort working around loud noises (barking), unpleasant odors, and hair/dander, as well as working outdoors in various weather conditions for dog walks.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous about logging details into patient charts, including exact feeding amounts, elimination habits, and behavioral notes.
- Strong Communication: Ability to collaborate seamlessly with veterinary technicians, assistants, and doctors, as well as interact professionally and compassionately with clients during patient check-ins and check-outs.
- Self-Motivation: A proactive work ethic—someone who identifies tasks that need doing (like laundry, restocking, or sweeping) without waiting for direction.
- Emotional Resilience: Compassion for animals paired with the emotional maturity required to work in a medical environment where animals may be sick or injured
