We are currently hiring a Cafe Cook for our Woodlands Cafe. This role consistently ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas and equipment in alignment with Health Department standards and safely executes all menu items according to approved recipes and proper cooking techniques. Location: The Nash Casino - 310 Daniel Webster Highway - Nashua, NH
Hours: Part-time - Variable hours (1st shift/swing shift/late-night shift) with weekends and holidays required
Job Responsibilities
- Follow recipes, measurements, quantities, and procedures to ensure menu items are prepared consistently.
- Actively participate in training, become familiar with each recipe, and ensure strict recipe adherence.
- Ensure all prep items and recipes are completed according to approved standards.
- Break down prep areas at the end of each meal period and ensure proper storage of all products.
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food‑handling practices.
- Position, arrange, and garnish food according to recipe and presentation standards.
- Collect food requisitions from commissary as directed and restock products in designated areas.
- Report any product shortages or stock needs immediately to kitchen management.
- Assist with training and mentoring new team members as requested.
- Work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively as part of a team.
- Remain compliant with all legal and company regulations required for work in the industry.
- Cook experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must pass all required pre‑screening and background checks.
- Internal candidates must meet eligibility requirements under the Transfer and Promotion Policy.
- Must complete and pass all alcohol‑awareness and food‑safety training as required by The Nash Casino.
Physical/Mental Working Demands
- Must be able to move throughout the work area for the entire workday.
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to engage with guests appropriately and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must be able to access and interpret information on computer screens.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, balance, and work throughout the property; must tolerate temperature changes and frequent immersion of hands in water or sanitizing solutions.
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted and where noise levels may include guest chatter, overhead music, and live entertainment.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and respond to visual and auditory cues.
- Requires the ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and demonstrate adequate hand‑eye coordination.
