Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) – Independent Contractor (1099)
C&D Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing outpatient behavioral health practice. Position Details
- Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
- Compensation: Competitive 60/40 contractor revenue split
- Schedule: Choose your own hours and create your own schedule
- Location: Remote (Telehealth) with opportunities for future in-person services
- Electronic Health Record: TherapyNotes
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
- Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric follow-up care
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions across the lifespan
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practice
- Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic testing as clinically indicated
- Provide brief psychotherapy and patient education when appropriate
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in TherapyNotes
- Collaborate with therapists, addiction counselors, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
Qualifications
Required
- Active Indiana PMHNP license in good standing
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Current Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR), if applicable
- Current professional liability (malpractice) insurance
- If required by state law or your licensing status, maintain a collaborating physician or other required collaborative agreement throughout your contract
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, medication management, and documentation skills
Preferred
- Active Kentucky PMHNP license
- Experience treating children, adolescents, and adults
- Experience managing ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance use disorders, and serious mental illness
- Experience providing telepsychiatry services
- Familiarity with Indiana and Kentucky mental health and community resources
- Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a plus
