Job description
The Grounds Maintenance Worker performs semi-skilled work in the maintenance, care, and modification of grounds and landscapes which includes the operation of diesel powered and gasoline-powered groundskeeping equipment and machines, and the use of small hand and power tools or equipment in planting, cultivating, and trimming grounds and landscaping. The Grounds Maintenance Worker also performs maintenance on groundskeeping equipment and tools and makes minor repairs (within demonstrated capability) as directed.
Pay & Benefits
$20.52/Hour (Current Department of Labor Wage Determination Rate)

Schedule
Monday-Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm with a half-hour lunch. (35-40 hours a week).
Saturdays are sometimes required during peak season (April-June).
Potential for seasonal layoffs Oct-March. Also potential for winter work and advancement for high-achieving employees.
Requirements
A Grounds Maintenance Worker to maintain, repair, and provide service on all grounds to ensure that they are clean, safe, and attractive.
Some prior experience operating lawnmowers and trimers is preferred but not required.
Ability to pass a background check at the time of hire and for the duration of employment. Felonies will prohibit job site access.
A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license are preferred but not required.
Main Responsibilities
Mowing, trimming, pruning, edging, mulching, aeration, and fertilization.
Weed and brush control.
Debris cleanup.
Cleaning and caring for tools and equipment.
Main Physical Requirements
Ability to work outside up to 8 hours a day, including standing, walking, and working on steep inclines such as hills and un-level ground.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. / push and pull up to 70 lbs.
Must have good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and a good sense of balance.
Once trained, you must be able to operate a 12lb trimmer for up to 6 hours.
