We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager with a strong background in the repair of turbine engine components using specialized welding, grinding, machining, and finishing processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical experience as well as the leadership and production-management skills required to oversee a fast-paced component repair operation.
Experience with conventional equipment and processes, including ID/OD grinding, TIG welding, conventional lathes and mills, jig boring, and Gleason Curvic grinding, is required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee all component repair operations, including TIG welding, conventional lathes and mills, ID/OD grinding, jig boring, Curvic grinding, hand finishing, and outside processing.
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer lead-time, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor labor standards for repair operations.
- Review actual versus standard job costs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Interpret technical data, drawings, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances to determine the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective sequence of repair operations.
- Develop and maintain shop planning and routing for component repairs.
- Work closely with Engineering to develop and maintain repair processes in accordance with FAA-approved technical data.
- Provide Sales with accurate estimates for labor, materials, and outside processing costs to support customer quotations.
- Monitor work-in-process and provide status updates on all active work orders during daily production meetings.
- Hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate shop personnel while promoting accountability, productivity, and ownership of results.
- Ensure machines, tooling, and work areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and professional condition.
- Monitor routine preventive maintenance of shop equipment.
- Oversee and enforce all applicable safety requirements and initiatives within the machining and repair areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills & Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Machine Shop Manager or equivalent leadership role within a turbine engine component repair environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with conventional machining and repair equipment.
- Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced aviation or precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of turbine engine component repair processes and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical data, specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and repair instructions.
- Extensive experience using precision inspection and measurement equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and general computer applications.
- Experience with SolidWorks and CNC programming is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, technical aptitude, and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
