Join us this summer as a dynamic and enthusiastic Summer Camp Coordinator! We are looking for an experienced teacher to coordinate and run our weekly summer camps that will have up to 14-20 kids per week. In this vibrant role, you will lead engaging activities, foster a safe and inclusive environment, and inspire children to explore, learn, and grow through a variety of fun-filled programs. Your energy and dedication will help create memorable summer experiences for kids of all ages, encouraging their development in a supportive and lively setting. - Execute a diverse range of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures that cater to different age groups and interests
- Maintain a safe environment by supervising children closely, enforcing rules, and practicing proper behavior management techniques
- Provide first aid when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all campers at all times
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and compassionate guidance
- Foster teamwork, communication, and social skills among campers through group activities and collaborative projects
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to coordinate schedules, share responsibilities, and ensure smooth daily operations
- Engage parents with regular updates on camper progress and address any concerns with professionalism and care
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly desirable
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and guide young learners effectively
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Experience in special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to connect with children, parents, and team members positively
- Passion for teaching, childcare, sports coaching, theater arts or Christian counseling is highly valued
