The Bryant Park Corporation and 34th Street Partnership are hiring part-time, seasonal staff responsible for managing and operating daily amenities in Bryant Park and the 34th Street District. Games Hosts play a vital role in creating a fun and engaging experience for visitors by overseeing free public zones designated for games, arts & crafts, and other activities. Games Hosts’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Staffing and overseeing public game and activity areas. Setting up your assigned area at the start of the day; cleaning equipment; picking up litter; tidying displays; neatly storing equipment not in use; monitoring equipment condition and recording visitor counts and daily observations; and maintaining an organized and welcoming space. Hosts can expect to rotate through all activity areas during their employment.
- Facilitating gameplay and public participation. Communicate politely and positively with the public and act as an ambassador of the space. Explain and teach game rules; enforce area and park rules; actively engage visitors; foster participation; ensure respectful use of the space; and assist guests of all ages.
- Assisting with programming and park operations. Staff special events or tournaments as needed, and take direction from management staff regarding additional duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; consideration given to undergraduate work plus experience in recreation, coaching, or park management
- 1+ year of experience working with children preferred

- Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to update an online spreadsheet
- Reliable access to a cell phone with photo and texting capability, and consistent access to email
The amenities are open to the public daily through mid-October. Hours of operation are generally 11am to 7pm, with some exceptions for certain amenities and special events.
Games Hosts can expect to work 10–40 hours per week. Preference will be given to candidates with more flexible schedules and a genuine desire to work hard.
Games Hosts must maintain a polished professional appearance, which includes wearing the provided uniform shirt, following the dress code, and keeping jewelry to a minimum.
