A Joyous Kare is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide exceptional one-on-one care to clients in their homes throughout Indiana. About the Role
As a CNA, you will work 12-hour shifts providing direct personal care and support to elderly, chronically ill, physically disabled, or mentally challenged individuals. You will play an essential role in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes while delivering care with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and personal care
- Assist with dressing, toileting, and incontinence care
- Safely assist clients with transfers, ambulation, repositioning, and mobility
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when needed
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization
- Assist with grocery shopping and essential errands
- Provide medication reminders and assist with opening medication containers (within scope of practice)
- Monitor and report changes in clients' physical, emotional, or mental condition
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete required visit notes
- Follow each client's individualized care plan
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and family members
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR certification preferred
- Valid Indiana driver's license
- Reliable transportation with proof of automobile insurance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Must successfully pass a Skills Test
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check
- Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen
- Negative TB Test required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to assist clients with transfers and mobility
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs throughout the shift
- Ability to sit, stoop, and twist frequently
- Ability to use proper body mechanics when lifting or transferring clients
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to tolerate extended periods of standing and walking
- Ability to work in various home environments
