Overview
Position: Afternoon Shift – Loader Operator – Plant Feed Operator
Location: Grant Town, WV
Work Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off. Shift starts 3pm to 1 am with the potential to finish early or run longer dependent on feed rate. Shift pays 10 hours minimum, even if done early. Weekly hours can vary depending on where the 4 days fall on the weekly pay period. Additional hours can be provided to help alleviate this.
Job Description: The loader operator will be expected to operate Caterpillar 980H Loader to feed coarse coal and refuse material into hoppers safely and efficiently to maintain fuel supply for power plant operations. The loader operator is also responsible for keeping the coal yard maintained for a safe environment for other plant and contractor personnel through daytime operations.
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: MSHA Part 48 training. **Can be provided
- Driver License
- Required Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy equipment experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong knowledge of safe equipment operation and compliance with MSHA and site safety regulations
- Must be able to pass Drug Screening and adhere to MSHA's Zero tolerance alcohol and substance abuse program
- Proven ability to load and move materials efficiently while maintaining production standards
- Experience performing daily equipment inspections and reporting maintenance issues
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and plant personnel with a positive attitude

- Perform duties with minimum supervision
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and in a dark environment
- Must be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per day
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities
- Manage steady material flow to prevent production delays
- Inspect equipment daily and report mechanical issues
- Maintain safe working distances around trucks and personnel
- Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment and work area
- Follow site safety rules and MSHA regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, plant personnel and other equipment operators
- Promote a culture of safety and a positive attitude, and exhibit these behaviors
