We are currently seeking a professional and passionate Bartender to join our dedicated service team.
Job Summary: As a Bartender at Phoenicia, you will be the face of our bar program, crafting classic and signature cocktails. You will provide exceptional hospitality, demonstrating extensive knowledge of our wine list, spirits, and beverages while maintaining the elegant and welcoming atmosphere our guests expect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expert Craftsmanship: Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and high presentation standards.
- Guest Engagement: Greet guests warmly, assess their preferences, and provide knowledgeable recommendations for cocktails, wine pairings, and food selections.
- Service Coordination: Take food and drink orders for bar patrons and collaborate closely with the dining room staff to ensure seamless service.
- Bar Maintenance: Maintain a pristine, organized, and fully stocked bar area, ensuring all glassware and tools are clean and ready for use.
- Professional Conduct: Uphold the high standards of a fine-dining environment, including a professional appearance and a calm, composed demeanor during peak hours.
- Compliance: Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age and adhere to all state liquor laws and safety regulations.
- Operations: Accurately manage the POS system (Toast), process payments, and complete opening/closing procedures including inventory checks and restocking.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience, preferably in a fine-dining or high-volume upscale environment.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of mixology, classic cocktails, and international wine varietals.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with regular and first-time guests.
- Professionalism: Punctual, reliable, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Certifications: Valid alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol) is highly preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed for restocking.
