Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair all plumbing and piping systems
- Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical/electrical devices including pumps, valves, heat-exchangers, cooling towers, lift stations, pneumatic control, boilers, chillers and compressors
- Operate and maintain medical gas systems including nitrous oxide, nitrogen, air, oxygen and vacuum piping
- Operate and maintain domestic water, heating hot water, chilled water, water softeners, RO water, sanitary sewer, sinks, toilets, showers, piping and equipment, etc.
- Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with work specifications, codes and regulations
- Plan installations by reading blueprints and schematics
- Keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe
- Maintain adequate inventory of plumbing supplies, tools, and parts
- Coordinate work order lists with Engineering Supervisor
- Coordinate with Construction Supervisor for scheduling and completion of in-house construction projects
- Timely input data and time into the maintenance work order system
- Compliance with all Riverview Health and Engineering Department policies and procedures
- Availability to assist Engineering staff by telephone or call-in
- Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED; Licensed Journeyman plumber
- Preferred: Medical gas certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Three (3) years commercial experience
- Preferred: Five (5) years commercial or institutional experience
License/Certification Requirements
Minimum:
- Completion of plumbing apprenticeship and licensed to practice as a Plumber in the state of Indiana
- Medical Gas Certification (or ability to be certified within 12 months of hire
