CarePartners is a specialty pharmacy business focused on niche therapies and markets, primarily in the IVIG/SCIG, bleeding disorders, and other specialty infusion markets. The CarePartners team is made up of dedicated clinicians and experienced support staff dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality service, leveraging a high-touch patient centric model. CarePartners is based in Libertyville, IL and licensed to service patients in 50 states & D.C.
The Specialty Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring safe practices of pharmacy operations, including but not limited to the review and interpretation of prescriptions for verification, reviewing patient records to determine appropriateness of medication therapy, providing patient medication counseling, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities and dispensing medications.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support prescription management and documentation in accordance with CarePartners Pharmacy’s established processes and systems guidelines and requirements while following all legal, regulatory, and state regulations including HIPAA
- Work and interact collaboratively and effectively with intake and inside sales team members in support of the on-boarding of new patient in need of specialty services and therapies offered by CarePartners.
- Monitor, oversee, and/or manage pharmacy technician activities, documentation, and performance.
- Work and interact collaboratively and effectively with various Pharmacy operational team members and roles to ensure prescription fulfillment, order management, and shipping support are all working in concert with one another to meet patient prescription care needs in a timely fashion
- Perform daily pharmacy services including but not limited to the following:
- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, verify the necessary ingredients and evaluate their suitability
- Enforce safety rules and regulations throughout prescription dispensing processes
- Provide comprehensive patient counseling on all specialty medications dispensed and ensure patients receive medications in accordance with physician’s order/prescription
- Work with the logistics and inventory coordinator team to ensure all patient deliveries have been made appropriately and timely
- Assess patient incidents, complaints, etc. for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution to the situation
- Maintain necessary and thoughtful communications to all intake, referral and pharmacy team members delivering information supplied by leadership
- Provide training and guidance to pharmacy technicians and monitor their performance
- Participates in "on-call” rotation as needed or determined by pharmacy management
- Comply with all requirements of Manufacturer programs as contractually required and instructed
- Participate in performance improvement activities as required
- Maintains pharmacy licensure and certifications according to requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Successful completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Master of Science in Pharmacy, or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution or college of pharmacy
- Current Illinois State Board of Pharmacy License in good standing
- 3-5 years of experience in home infusion or specialty pharmacy settings strongly preferred
- Special consideration given to candidates with experience in the immune globulin (IG) and bleeding disorder therapies
- Strong knowledge and understanding of specialty and infusion therapies
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28.0 – 32.0 per week
