Duties
- Perform automotive structural repairs using sheet metal fabrication, MIG welding, soldering, and welding repair techniques to restore vehicles to factory specifications.
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, sanding tools, and automotive cosmetic repair methods to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality.
- Apply auto body paint using airless paint spraying equipment and auto painting techniques to achieve a flawless finish.
- Assist with auto glass installation, automotive parts installation, and vehicle assembly tasks to support overall repair processes.
- Use hand tools and power tools for dent removal, sheet metal shaping, and minor mechanical repairs while adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct automotive detailing and auto restoration work to enhance vehicle appearance and value.
- Support the team with heavy lifting and general shop assistance, ensuring efficient workflow throughout the body shop.
Experience
- Prior dealership experience or hands-on work in an automotive collision or body shop environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, welding repair, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, parts installation, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with automotive structural repair, auto body repair, and sheet metal work.
- Experience operating automotive welding equipment, sanding tools, airless paint sprayers, and other power tools.
- Knowledge of automotive cosmetic repair methods including auto painting and refinishing processes.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with basic auto estimating abilities are a plus.
