Position Summary
Atlas Home Improvement is experiencing continued growth and is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable & Permit Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have bookkeeping and accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience in construction accounting, job costing, permitting, or NetSuite is a plus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Review and verify vendor invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure proper authorization and coding of invoices.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system for processing.
- Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate account records.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and outstanding balances.
- Process customer payments and assist with accounts receivable activities.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Maintain detailed and organized financial records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audit preparation by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
Permitting & Administrative Support
- Work closely with project managers to maintain accurate work-in-progress records.
- Facilitate, track, and manage city and state permits as required.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal team members.
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, data entry, and answering phones.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or accounting experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Construction industry, job costing, permitting, or NetSuite experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

- Full-time
- Monday through Friday

Whitmore Lake, MI 48189
In-person position. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Whitmore Lake or relocate prior to starting employment.
