Shift - Rotating shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our dynamic mental health care team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to individuals experiencing a range of psychiatric conditions, supporting their recovery and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status examinations, and physical evaluations tailored to psychiatric needs
- Administer medications accurately, including injectable treatments such as botulinum toxin when indicated for specific conditions
- Monitor patient responses to treatments, managing side effects and adjusting care plans accordingly
- Assist with specialized procedures such as suturing or sterile technique during emergency interventions or minor procedures
- Provide patient education on medication management, coping strategies, and treatment options to promote understanding and adherence
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care plans that address physical health, mental health, and developmental needs
Requirements
- 1 year of psychiatric experience required
- Valid RN license in good standing
- BLS certification
