Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and a passion for maintaining and improving the performance of heavy equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines and related systems to identify issues.
- Perform repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to air brakes and electrical systems.
- Utilize power tools and equipment to execute repairs and maintenance tasks effectively.
- Fabricate parts as necessary to ensure optimal functionality of machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating cranes and other industrial equipment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in using power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems related to diesel engines.
- Familiarity with air brake systems is preferred.
- Ability to fabricate components as needed for repairs.
- Experience working with industrial equipment is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
