Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for a Spanish I/Spanish II Teacher position for the 2026–2027 academic year. Our Spanish Teacher will serve as a full-time teacher in our Catholic School. The Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing standards-based lessons as prescribed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Essential Functions
- Provides grade-appropriate instructional Spanish program for students.
- Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan curriculum.
- Provides grade-appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff, and administration.
- Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during, or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, detention, and any other duties assigned by the administration.
- Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.
- Attends school events including Back-to-School Night, Open Houses, Parent/Teacher conference days, and other events as requested by the administration.
Position Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Spanish language and culture.
- Ability to speak in the target language.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or Spanish.
- Qualifications required for MSDE secondary certification.
- Pedagogical knowledge and experience teaching Spanish at the high school level preferred.
- Understanding and appreciation of curriculum development and collaboration.
- Strong proficiency in using digital or online platforms, specifically Google Workspace and Canvas.
- Enthusiasm for working with adolescents.
- Deep understanding of adolescent pedagogy and development.
- Desire to grow through reflective professional practice.
- Commitment to fostering a community of connection and belonging.

Pay Range: $42,500 – 85,000, Annualized
