AREA COORDINATOR – STEM ENCOUNTERS

Inspire the Next Generation Through Hands-On STEM Learning
STEM Encounters is seeking an energetic, organized, and creative Area Coordinator to help lead one of our classrooms. This is far more than a childcare position—we're looking for someone who can create an exciting environment where children genuinely love learning through science, engineering, technology, and hands-on exploration.
Schedule
- Immediate opening
- Year-round employment
- Summer Camp transitions directly into our After School Program
- Approximately 30–40 hours per week
- Typical shifts are 7–8 hours
- Hours may fall anytime between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
- Some days may begin as early as 6:45 AM or end as late as 6:30 PM depending on programming
Compensation
- Starting pay: $13.00–$25.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications
- Paid training provided
Monthly Bonus Opportunities
Earn five separate monthly bonuses worth $25–$100 each, for a total monthly bonus potential of $125–$500, based on measurable performance standards.

Facility Excellence requires maintaining exceptionally high cleaning standards including:

- Overall presentation that consistently exceeds expectations
Responsibilities
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere from opening until closing
- Build outstanding relationships with parents, students, coworkers, and directors
- Lead exciting STEM activities and curriculum
- Keep students engaged, curious, and excited to learn
- Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness
- Transport children safely in company passenger vans
- Pick up students from local schools
- Drive students to field trips
- Train and mentor staff in transportation and classroom procedures
- Assist with enrollment retention through exceptional customer service
- Maintain administrative accuracy when assigned

If you're uncomfortable leading exciting STEM projects or keeping groups of children actively engaged through hands-on learning, this position will likely not be a good fit.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Able to pass background screening

Training & Probation
This position includes a six-week probationary training period.
During the first six weeks:
- No days off may be scheduled
- Performance will be evaluated regularly
- Continued employment depends upon successful completion of training
