Position Overview: A Residential HVAC Installer sets up, replaces, and services heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in homes. They install furnaces, AC units, heat pumps, ductwork, and electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety codes. This role requires mechanical skills, troubleshooting ability, and strong customer service.
The Service Technician main duties include performing equipment repairs and routine maintenance. Provide customers with instructions on the proper usage of the product. Responsibilities involve diagnosing, troubleshooting, and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Properly install, configure, and connect heating and cooling equipment (e.g., furnaces, AC units, heat pumps) following manufacturer specifications.
- Fabricate, install, and seal HVAC duct systems; install copper refrigerant lines and gas lines.
- Wire low-voltage and line-voltage components, including thermostats, air cleaners, and humidifiers.
- Perform start-ups, run diagnostics, and check for leaks to ensure optimal system performance.
- Inform homeowners about system operation, maintenance, and answer questions to ensure satisfaction.
- Adhere to all safety standards, EPA regulations for refrigerant handling, and local building codes.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Identifying the root cause of problems and implementing effective solutions.
- Explaining technical issues and repair procedures to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
- Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites.
- Participate in Service “On-Call” schedule and dispatching emergency service.
- Promote the company's services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- High school diploma/equivalent with HVAC technical training or previous experience preferred.
- Understanding of HVAC systems, blueprints, wiring schematics, and building codes.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, brazing, soldering and diagnostic equipment (gauges, meters).
- Ability to calibrate and test thermostats.
- Interact professionally and build rapport with customers.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Valid driver’s license
Pay: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour
