Job Overview
The Fabricator Mechanic is a skilled fabricator with hands‑on maintenance experience who supports both production and equipment upkeep. This role involves reading manufacturing drawings, completing fabrication tasks, and performing troubleshooting and maintenance on field and site equipment. Responsibilities
- Work with the Metal Fabrication Coordinator to complete jobs to required specifications and deadlines.
- Perform cutting, deburring, grinding, shearing, bending, welding, and assembly.
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and dimensions.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify needed parts, and complete repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on welders, shears, brake presses, and other site equipment.
- Communicate with management and customers regarding project timing and adjustments.
- Coordinate fabrication and maintenance tasks to avoid workflow disruptions.
- Work with vendors and management to source parts and components.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Fabrication, Maintenance, or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in fabrication processes including cutting, deburring, shearing, bending, assembly, and welding.
- Understanding of carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless‑steel fabrication.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and specifications.
