Job Overview
We are hiring for a FULL-TIME experienced and skilled PACU Registered Nurse, to join our busy and fast-paced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, particularly in acute care settings, PACU or ICU required. This PACU-RN position will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care during the critical recovery phase following anesthesia. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively assess patient needs and respond promptly to any complications that may arise. Schedule preferred is 4 - 10-hour shifts but may accommodate 5 - 8-hour shifts
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-surgery or procedure.
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions as per physician orders.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify any complications or changes in condition.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with pain management strategies, including acute pain management protocols.
- Utilize EMR systems for efficient patient record keeping and communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the PACU.
Experience
Candidates should have a solid foundation in nursing practices, with preferred experience including:
- Previous experience is PACU or ICU setting required.
- Critical care experience, particularly in Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Experience in an Endoscopy Procedure environment and knowledge Gastroenterology a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for effective documentation. Current EMR is gGastro/ModMed.
- Proficiency in essential nursing skills including IV insertion, medication administration, phlebotomy, and airway management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
Background check, OIG check and Drug Screening required.

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
