About the Position
Hampton Roads Home Care is currently looking for caring and dedicated Personal Care Aides (PCA) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to join our team and provide quality in-home care and support to clients throughout the Virginia Beach area.
We are seeking caregivers who are passionate about helping others and committed to providing safe, respectful, and compassionate assistance with everyday needs while promoting independence and dignity for each client.
Caregiver Responsibilities
Caregivers will work under the direction of our Nurse Manager and follow individualized client care plans. Duties may include:
- Providing companionship and meaningful interaction to clients in their homes
- Assisting clients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, and toileting
- Supporting safe mobility, including walking assistance, transfers, and wheelchair assistance
- Preparing meals, assisting with grocery shopping, and helping with other nutritional needs
- Completing light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Providing medication reminders and observing client routines
- Tracking and reporting changes in client condition, including fluid intake/output when required
- Accompanying clients to appointments and assisting with necessary errands
Documentation & Team Communication
Caregivers are responsible for:
- Recording completed care tasks accurately through an electronic timekeeping system
- Communicating changes in a client’s condition, safety concerns, or other important updates to supervisors
- Completing required training, continuing education, and participating in team meetings as needed

Qualifications & Skills
Applicants should have:
- Experience providing personal care or support services, especially with older adults
- Experience caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other cognitive conditions is preferred
- Ability to communicate professionally through phone and email
- Knowledge of basic caregiving practices and healthcare guidelines
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to provide care in private homes and other care environments
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is an in-person caregiving position that takes place in client homes and/or care facilities. The role may require frequent standing, bending, assisting with transfers, and providing mobility support. Caregivers may assist clients requiring support of up to 250 lbs with proper assistance.
Employment Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current PCA certification or CNA license
- At least 1 year of caregiving experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation and active auto insurance
- Current TB clearance
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
