COMPANY OVERVIEW
Mattur is building a new class of modular power systems that deliver reliable, low-cost energy anywhere it's needed. Our platform starts with PulseTech, a high-efficiency generator core used across our portable and backup hybrid-fuel systems and our compact utility wind turbines, giving customers scalable power without the constraints of traditional solutions.
Mattur systems operate where legacy equipment struggles: low-wind environments, remote sites, fast-growing operations, and markets where power availability limits growth. With faster installation, lower operating cost, and real-time optimization through our control software, we provide dependable power for construction, mission-critical backup, rural communities, and the next generation of AI and industrial load.
At Mattur, we're reinventing distributed energy, systems that are cleaner, smarter, and resilient by design. Join us as we build the next generation of American-made power.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Mattur is seeking an experienced Fabricator to build the chassis, frames, enclosures, and structural assemblies that go into our generator and wind platforms. This is a hands-on shop role for a complete fabricator: someone who can take a print and produce a finished, in-tolerance assembly, handling layout, forming, fit-up, and welding start to finish with minimal supervision. You will work directly alongside our engineering and machining teams as designs move from prototype to production build.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fabrication
- Fabricate frames, chassis, brackets, enclosures, and subassemblies from engineering drawings and models.
- Execute sheet metal and tube work, including layout, cutting, forming, bending, notching, coping, and fit-up.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T to understand fabrication requirements.
- Build and modify jigs, fixtures, and weld tables to support repeatable production.
- Operate and maintain shop equipment including shears, brakes, saws, grinders, and tube benders.
Welding
- Weld aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel using the process the job calls for, primarily TIG and MIG, producing high-quality, repeatable welds on both structural and precision components.
- Select appropriate process, filler, and parameters based on material, joint design, and application.
- Maintain adherence to applicable welding standards and specifications, ensuring all components meet quality and safety requirements.
Quality and Collaboration
- Inspect and test welds and finished components against specifications and tolerances, correcting defects and reworking as needed.
- Work closely with the engineering and quality teams to identify and resolve fit, tolerance, and weldability issues before they affect product quality.
- Provide practical design-for-manufacture feedback to engineering on part geometry, joint design, and material selection.
Process and Shop
- Continuously improve fabrication and welding processes and techniques to increase throughput, consistency, and quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform other related fabrication, welding, or assembly duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on fabrication experience, currently practicing. This is a senior, working-fabricator role, not a supervisory one.
- Strong TIG and MIG welding ability across aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.
- Demonstrated sheet metal and tube fabrication experience, including layout, forming, and precision fit-up.
- Able to read and work directly from engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T without hand-holding.
- Experience building to tight tolerances on structural and precision assemblies.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving prototype-to-production environment where designs change.
- Based in Arizona; this is a full-time, on-site role.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Welding certifications (AWS D1.1, D1.2, D17.1, or equivalent).
- Titanium or Inconel welding experience.
- Experience fabricating from SolidWorks models and flat patterns.
- Fixture and tooling design experience.
- Exposure to coatings, finishing, or material treatment processes.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary and stock options.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, dental, and life insurance plans.
- Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
- A mission-driven team building next-generation American-made power.
