Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Pain Medical Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Review and accurately code medical procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for inpatient stays.
- Assign appropriate ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnosis codes based on detailed review of medical records and provider documentation.
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with all billing regulations.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation to support billing accuracy and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding issues that impact billing processes.
- Stay current with updates in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within a pain management.
- Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for billing and record keeping.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate medical coding and manage complex billing workflows.
- Experience in medical collection processes and resolving insurance claim denials effectively.
