Industrial Electrician
Will ensure the continued functioning of electrical equipment by its proper installation, maintenance, and repair. You must be able to understand technical documents, such as schematics, that detail job instructions. You must also adhere to the statutory codes that apply to your work. Success in this role will be demonstrated by the continued successful completion of assigned tasks with minimized equipment downtime.
Shift: Night Shift
Duties / Responsibilities:
· Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
· Installs, repairs, and maintains the electrical parts of industrial equipment
· Works individually or as part of a team to successfully complete projects
· Correctly interprets technical documents for proper execution of assignments
· Perform quality testing and inspections
· Performing electrical work on motors, pumps and industrial lighting systems
· Cleaning circuit boards and contacts
· Troubleshooting and repairing electrical components
· Working with programmable logic/automation controls
· Troubleshoot, repair, replace PLC’s, Servo and Frequency Drives and related electronic hardware
· Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective writing, etc
· Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule
· Respond quickly to emergency situations
· Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
· Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
· Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
· Performing other related duties as assigned
Required Competencies:
· Highly flexible able to adjust hours and schedule to meet mill needs
· Solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines
· Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
· Ability to work in a team environment
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
· Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
· Experience using PLC’s is an asset
· Able to understand schematics and other technical document
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights when needed
· Suitable agility and stamina to permit negotiation of stairs, elevated work platforms, ladders and walking on uneven terrain
