Joint Forces K9 Group is seeking a motivated, experienced Dog Trainer to join our growing team. Our mission is simple: help people build better relationships with their dogs and inspire them to do more with them.

Position Overview
The Dog Trainer will assist with:
- Training facility dogs (Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds)
- Training client Board-and-Train dogs
- Assisting with private lessons and group classes
- Supporting daily operations within the training facility
We utilize a balanced training methodology and follow structured protocols within our programs. Trainers must be open-minded and willing to learn our systems and standards.
This is a hands-on, physically active role requiring confidence handling dogs of varying temperaments.
What the Job Is Like
This is not a desk job. Our days are active and involve:
- Multiple daily training sessions
- Structured walks and exercise
- Socialization outings
- Swim sessions
- Handling dogs with varying behavior levels
You will work with dogs that range from:
- shy and sensitive dogs
- high-energy family dogs
- strong, driven working dogs

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
- Have professional dog training experience (certification preferred but not required)
- Be confident handling dogs of all temperaments
- Be open-minded and coachable
- Be willing to follow facility training protocols
- Have strong work ethic and reliability
- Be physically capable of working with dogs throughout the day
- Be adaptable and able to manage changing situations
Additional preferred experience:
- Dog sport participation
- Veterinary clinic or shelter work
- Working dog training experience
- Ability to help document training content or assist with social media
Primary ResponsibilitiesTraining
- Work with facility working dogs
- Train client board-and-train dogs
- Assist with private lessons and group classes
- Conduct socialization outings
- Follow facility training protocols and documentation standards
Facility & Kennel Responsibilities
While training is the primary focus, trainers assist with general facility duties including:
- Feeding dogs according to client instructions
- Monitoring dog health and medication administration
- Maintaining kennel cleanliness
- Ensuring dogs rotate through daily activities
- Basic grooming tasks
- Maintaining safe and sanitary facility conditions
Occasionally this may include:
- power washing
- weed eating
- general facility maintenance
We operate as a team environment where everyone contributes to the care and safety of the dogs.
Compensation & Benefits
$500 – $1,000 per week plus bonus opportunities
Benefits include:
- Performance review and potential pay increase after 12 months
- Paid Time Off after 120 days
- Medical / Dental / Vision Insurance (65% employer contribution) after 120 days

Additional bonus opportunities may be available for generating and closing client leads.
Schedule
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- 5 days per week
- Sundays off

This position cannot be performed remotely and requires relocation to the area.
