Full time help wanted on a hog and grain farm in Shelby County
Daily Tasks
- Wash barns between groups of pigs
- Examine pigs to detect symptoms of illness
- Follow veterinary protocol
- Check environment daily (air, feed, water)
- Work with others to complete pig handling tasks
Perform necessary barn maintenance
- Basic understanding of electrical is helpful but not necessary (willing to learn)
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Secondary Tasks
- Assist in grounds maintenance
- Potential to help with grain operation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a hog barn with dust and odor
- Must be dependable
- Knowledge of or ability to learn animal husbandry skills
- Availability for weekend and holiday work on rotation
- Farm livestock experience is not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
