Handsome Devil BBQ began in 2012 as a mobile concession unit serving great BBQ throughout the Northeast. In 2014, the company opened its first restaurant in Newburgh and has continued to grow since our inception while maintaining our devotion to serving delicious BBQ throughout New York State. We are currently looking for a Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our team at our Newburgh location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Kitchen Manager’s role is to provide uncompromised excellence at all times, making the Guest and the BBQ the heart and passion of all they do.
- Ensures flawless execution of every detail, every shift, by every team member, to ensure we exceed Guest expectations at all times.
- Kitchen Manager provides direction, coaching, training and development for team members including food quality, service standards, safety and sanitation, and company policies and procedures.
- Ensures all food, beverage and service standards, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Kitchen Manager ensures consistent execution of all systems, standards, inventory and cost controls.
- Partners with the GM to create and implement plans that result in improved financial performance in all areas of the operation.
- Kitchen Manager partners with GM to plans, execute and follow up on new company initiatives.
- Interviews and assists in final selection of all team members, maintaining appropriate staffing par levels.
- Kitchen Manager partners with GM to verify that all daily administration is carried out according to policy and standards.
- Kitchen Manager proactively organizes and plans work anticipating the ever changing needs of the business.
- Communicates effectively with the guest, team members, management team, owner, and vendors.
- Responds to guest feedback promptly and ensures positive guest recovery.
- Ensures cleanliness of exterior and interior facilities and sufficient supply levels to execute their responsibilities.
- Kitchen Manager follows safety procedures and standards when operating all equipment.
- Provides a safe and professional, non-hostile, harassment free working environment for team members.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, work under stress and exercise good judgment.
- Overseeing the procurement of approved products, by the selected vendors, production of quality food, and managing a staff of 10+ people.
- Ability to follow & create prep lists while maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen on a daily basis; meeting all Board of Health Standards.
- Ordering food from the designated vendor, all paper goods, cleaning products.
- Ensures prep stations are properly stocked and accurate to minimize repeat visits.
- Ensure food standards and presentation are maintained and always improved.
- Check catering sheets and ensures all food items for Events/Special functions are ordered & prepared on time, and meets quality standards

Qualifications
· 2+ Full-Service restaurant management experience required
· 4+ years of BOH experience required
· Knowledge of inventory and budgeting required
· Serv Safe food handler/manager certified
