Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will design and implement tailored instructional strategies to foster academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence among students with disabilities. Duties
- Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with each student’s unique needs, goals, and abilities.
- Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects such as literacy, math, and life skills, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
- Utilize evidence-based behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to promote positive behaviors and social skills.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate students with autism, deaf education needs, developmental disabilities, or those requiring early intervention support.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists to support holistic student development.
- Monitor student progress through standardized testing, assessments, and ongoing observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student performance, IEP goals, behavioral incidents, and communication with families to ensure compliance and transparency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Childhood Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for special education in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities or in early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or in deaf education environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, behavioral health practices, and behavior management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for mentoring students and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches for diverse learners including preschoolers or those in Montessori or private school settings.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
