Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. You will manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, medical records and payments while providing exceptional customer service. Your expertise in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and administrative support will contribute to the smooth operation of our clinic. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate check-in/check-out procedures using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Tebra or eClinicalWorks
- Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily operations
- Collect and review client payments
- Manage electronic health records (EHR), ensuring proper documentation review and confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies
- Answer phone systems with professional phone etiquette; handle patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain accurate medical record systems, including scanning documents into EMR systems and managing paper files when necessary
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, filing documents
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Administrative Assistant in a healthcare setting; medical or dental clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical office procedures including patient intake, documentation review, payment processors
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Tebra, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential
- Excellent computer skills for administrative support tasks
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and medical payments
- Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry, and organization within a fast-paced environment
