The Position
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, material receiving, job material preparation, warehouse organization, and the coordination of tools, equipment, and fleet readiness to support field operations. The Warehouse Manager reports to the Procurement Manager, and works closely with Field and Fleet Operations to ensure materials are accurately received, maintained, and distributed while promoting a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. This position is also responsible for supervising warehouse personnel, driving continuous process improvements, and ensuring inventory accuracy to support the successful execution of residential solar installation and service projects. Additional duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Coordinate the loading of job materials, tools, and equipment into installation and service vehicles to ensure crews are prepared for each day's work.
- Coordinate the unloading of unused materials, debris, and equipment from returning field vehicles, ensuring reusable inventory is properly returned to stock and waste is disposed of appropriately.
- Receive incoming shipments and inspect, count, verify, label, and organize materials within the warehouse(s).
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through routine cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and proper warehouse management system updates.
- Monitor inventory minimums and maximums, identify replenishment needs, and communicate purchasing requirements to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Assemble, review, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and oversee the picking and kitting of materials for upcoming installation and service projects.
- Organize warehouse layout and storage locations to maximize efficiency, material flow, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment, including forklifts and material handling equipment, is operated and maintained safely.
- Enforce company safety policies, housekeeping standards, and OSHA requirements throughout the warehouse.
- Supervise, coach, and support warehouse personnel by assigning daily priorities, monitoring performance, and promoting continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Supply, and Field teams to resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and inventory discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, inventory controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics.
- Working knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse management systems.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, including Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift or willingness to obtain forklift certification.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of warehouse work.
Preferred:
- 2–5 years of warehouse, logistics, or inventory management experience.
- Previous experience supervising or leading warehouse personnel.
- Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinating material kitting for field operations.
- Knowledge of residential solar installation, electrical components, or construction materials.
- Experience managing inventory replenishment, inventory forecasting, and warehouse optimization initiatives.
- Forklift certification or previous experience operating powered industrial equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to balance day-to-day warehouse operations while driving long-term process improvements.
