POSITION OVERVIEW:
M&B Contract Specialties, Inc., located in Owings Mills, MD, is seeking a full-time Estimator to prepare and coordinate estimates at every project stage — from schematic design through design development and construction documents. This role involves soliciting subcontractor bids, evaluating scopes of work, preparing quantity take-offs, and reviewing project plans and specifications. Projects include the installation of window treatments (blinds and Shades, cubicle curtains, and projection screens.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review construction documents and understand the scope of work to be bid.

Execute detailed take-offs from construction documents.

Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates.

Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues.

Use estimating software to calculate and prepare project estimates.

Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements.

Recommend ways to make products and processes more cost-effective and profitable.

Attend pre-bid meetings and sales meetings as required.

Partner with ownership to prepare estimates and bids for clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.

Experience in window treatments preferred.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
