Snyder Dermatology & Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or highly experienced Medical Assistant to join our growing plastic surgery team. This position works directly alongside a board-certified plastic surgeon, caring for patients through consultations, procedures, surgery preparation, and post-operative recovery.
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, detail-oriented, and takes pride in creating an exceptional patient experience from the first consultation through recovery.
What You'll Do
- Assist the physician during consultations, follow-up visits, and in-office procedures
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative education and instructions
- Perform clinical duties within your scope of practice, including wound care, dressing changes, suture removal, medication administration (LVN), and patient assessments
- Triage patient phone calls and portal messages
- Coordinate care with surgery scheduling and clinical staff
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record (ModMed experience is a plus)
- Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and clinical supplies
- Deliver outstanding patient care with professionalism and compassion
Qualifications
Required
- Current Texas LVN license OR at least 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a surgical, plastic surgery, dermatology, ENT, ophthalmology, or other procedural specialty
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred
- Plastic surgery experience
- Cosmetic dermatology or aesthetics experience
- Experience assisting with in-office procedures
- Surgical or post-operative patient care experience
- ModMed (EMA) experience
