The K9 Care and Behavior Technician is responsible for providing high-quality animal care while maintaining a safe, clean, and structured environment for dogs in our daycare and boarding facility. This role requires the ability to read canine body language, manage group dynamics, and thrive in a fast-paced setting, especially during busy seasons. Animal safety, cleanliness, and customer service are top priorities.
Primary Responsibilities
Animal Care
Feed, water, and monitor pets according to established guidelines
Control energy levels and interactions in social playrooms
Administer medications when applicable and as directed
Observe, identify, and report changes in pet behavior or health
Ensure the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of all animals
Daycare, Boarding & Social Room Duties
Supervise group play and individual enrichment activities
Manage dog behavior and proactively prevent conflicts
Enforce facility policies, social room rules, and safety protocols
Cleaning & Sanitation
Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and common spaces
Perform proper waste disposal and laundry duties
Maintain sanitation standards to help prevent the spread of illness
Customer Interaction
Assist with pet check-in and check-out procedures
Communicate pet updates or concerns to supervisors and, when appropriate, clients
Provide basic customer service support while representing the company professionally
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Follow all animal handling and safety procedures
Recognize and promptly report signs of illness, stress, or injury
Adhere to emergency and incident response protocols
Safely use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with dogs or animals (personal or professional)
Ability to safely handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform cleaning duties for extended periods

Schedule, Availability & Compensation
Full-Time: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Thursday
Part-Time: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Thursday
Weekend availability may be required in the future
Compensation: Hourly pay range of $12.50–$15.00, based on experience
