HTES School Counselor (Grades 6–12)

Position Overview
Holy Trinity Episcopal School is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and faith-driven School Counselor to support students in grades 6–12. Our school serves students with unique learning needs in a Christ-centered environment, emphasizing the development of the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
The School Counselor will play a vital role in helping students navigate academic challenges, build healthy relationships, develop executive functioning skills, and prepare for life beyond graduation. This individual will partner closely with faculty, families, and administration to ensure each student is known, supported, and equipped to grow in confidence and purpose.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Support & Counseling
- Provide individual, small group, and classroom-based counseling to support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Help students develop skills in areas such as emotional regulation, conflict resolution, motivation, and personal responsibility
- Support students with learning differences, executive functioning challenges, and emotional needs through targeted strategies and interventions
- Serve as a trusted, approachable resource for students navigating personal or school-related concerns
Academic & Learning Support
- Collaborate with teachers and learning specialists to support students who need additional academic assistance
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized student support plans
- Assist in coordinating IEP meetings for students with the school district
- Monitor student progress and provide interventions when academic or behavioral concerns arise
- Support students in building effective study habits, organization, and time management skills
Family & Faculty Collaboration
- Partner with parents as active participants in their child’s growth, offering guidance and support as needed
- Consult with teachers and staff to develop strategies for supporting students in the classroom
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and student support discussions
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with all stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality
College & Career Readiness (High School Focus)
- Guide students through college and career exploration, helping them identify strengths, interests, and goals
- Support the college application process, including school selection, applications, and scholarships
- Assist students in preparing for post-secondary pathways, including workforce readiness, including offering courses when appropriate
- Maintain student transcripts and ensure that all students have adequate credits to graduate
Program Development & School Support
- Develop and deliver workshops or advisory lessons on topics such as stress management, executive functioning, and emotional wellness
- Provide referrals to outside professionals when additional support is needed
- Maintain accurate, confidential student records in accordance with school policies
- Contribute to a safe, supportive, and Christ-centered school culture
- Assist in supervising and organizing school activities and events such as Student Council, graduation ceremonies, etc.
- Assist with the planning of Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) events and processes.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- State certification or licensure as a counselor (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students
- Experience supporting students with learning differences (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning challenges)
- Knowledge of college and career planning processes
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality

Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
