Job Summary
Zeller Transportation is looking for a Dispatcher to help keep our trucking operations running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving problems, communicating with drivers, and working in a fast-paced office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day by phone and text.
- Monitor driver schedules and assist with load assignments.
- Enter and update load information in TMW.
- Help track on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Work with customers, drivers, and operations to resolve issues.
- Answer driver questions regarding routes, paperwork, and schedules.
- Notify customers of delivery updates when needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Assist with payroll information by ensuring driver load data is entered correctly.
- Monitor email and respond to operational requests.
- Help coordinate breakdowns, delays, and other unexpected situations.
- Support the operations team with daily administrative tasks.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous customer service, office, or administrative experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and learning new software.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or trucking (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of TMW software is a plus.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods.
- Frequently use a computer, phone, and office equipment.
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
