JOB SUMMARY:
Manage the production tooling including tooling review participation, repair analysis, tool maintenance, continual improvement, root cause analysis, and communication. Ensure tooling is production ready and available. Coordinate all activities as the liaison between engineering/program management / and production/quality, including design reviews, APQP meetings, engineering changes, pre-production planning and general communication. Act as an overall leader on the production floor activities through problem-solving, root cause analysis, training, and review of plant policies and procedures.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Process Engineer to review and approve any new tooling and tooling related equipment designed.
- Review and approve all repair and maintenance, daily cleaning, and overall function of the tools through a daily walk through on the production floor.
- Manage the PM of tooling and tooling related equipment.
- Manage the tooling repairs for the plant – through root cause analysis and corrective actions. Plan and hold consistent discussions throughout the week at planned times and intervals.
- Identify, monitor, and reduce non-essential costs for manufacturing.
- Ensure all implemented policies are followed daily.
- Communicate with the floor personnel on changes or issues related to this job scope.
- Initiate, monitor, and change all non-effective TS procedures and instructions.
- Responsible for ensuring all manufacturing personnel are trained and following any procedures that are instituted for tooling.
- Continuously monitor presses, equipment, and spc data to verify process parameters are in compliance.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the manufacturing area.
- Establish and document the process of activities in accordance with ISO TS 16949.
- Participate in 8D or other team building activities.
MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATIONAL & TRAINING:
- At least (5) years of injection molding/tooling experience
MINIMUM LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to uphold oral and written communication skills.

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of tooling principles.
