Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Fire Alarm Helper and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of building fire alarm systems. Duties
- Assist with the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial buildings
- Support senior technicians during system inspections to ensure compliance with fire codes and NFPA standards
- Help interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical blueprints related to fire alarm and sprinkler systems
- Use hand tools and basic electrical equipment to aid in system setup and troubleshooting
- Conduct field service tasks such as sensor testing, wiring checks, and system calibration under supervision
- Assist with verifying building code compliance during system installation or upgrades
- Support documentation efforts by recording inspection results, system configurations, and service reports
Skills
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical blueprints
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems, sensors, proprietary control panels, and sprinkler systems
- Mechanical knowledge related to fire sprinkler fitting and low voltage electrical work
- Experience with construction inspection or field service activities is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools effectively and safely in various installation tasks
- Knowledge of fire codes, NFPA standards, NEC regulations, and building code compliance requirements
- Strong customer service orientation with clear communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
