Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in various care settings, including home health, assisted living. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, particularly with seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans.
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and assist with meal preparation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Document vital signs and any changes in the client's condition accurately.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation and or valid driver's license
- Must be dependable, compassionate and professional.
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field such as home health, hospice care, or long-term care is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and basic nursing skills is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism and Alzheimer’s care.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is a plus.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be able to follow care plans accurately while being adaptable to changing client needs.

Pay: $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
