Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist with food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients according to menu specifications
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently and thoroughly
- Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold safety standards and prevent contamination
- Assist with basic menu planning and ingredient organization to streamline kitchen operations
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, sanitized, and properly maintained
- Support catering and special event setups as needed, including serving and replenishing food items
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred but not required
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or catering setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques is essential
- Familiarity with kitchen tools such as knives and other culinary equipment is beneficial
- Prior experience in the food industry or culinary environment will help you excel in this role
- Strong attention to detail in meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
