Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Point Click Care
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support
- Maintain medical records meticulously, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and confidentiality requirements
Skills
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety protocols including basic life support (BLS) and infection control practices
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Point Click Care
- Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs; skilled in dementia and memory care techniques
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience and empathy to work effectively with children and seniors alike
